One man. One disease. One vision....

One man. One disease. One vision. One grassroots effort. One thing missing........you!

This final wish will also bring the first Lupus group to Alaska.

When you hear there are no other treatment options because the only one left would cause rare cancers, may not work, and will kill you faster, you do one of two things: you fight with everything in you or you roll over and give up. Louis chose to fight. For 2 years since treatment was stopped, and a grave diagnosis given, he has fought with everything in him. Louis has Lupus, an autoimmune disease that sees normal body functions as diseases and attacks them. The Lupus has caused Stage IV/V Kidney disease, chronic kidney failures, seizures, organic brain disease, blood vessel dysautonomia, autoimmune hepatitis, Addison's disease, and much more.

In 2014, a doctor informed me I was to stay home with him or he wouldn't survive; so, for five years, I've put my life on hold to care for him around the clock.

Everything in his bucket list, except the last part, has been crossed off. His last wish is more urgent now as he is worried about my future due to kidney failures becoming even more frequent.

The last thing on his list is a bed and breakfast/lodge in Alaska. Most would shudder at the thought of leaving their wife with a business in Alaska. However, with my motel management and social media management experience, plus my tough personality, this is perfect for when he's alive and gone.

I have personally taken a 45 unit hotel known for drugs and prostitutes and transformed it. The owners loved to travel and not tend to their business, so everything was on me. I cleaned up the entire property; rooms, property, people, and crime. From there, I raised rates and stayed at maximum occupancy every night.

We've designed a package of perks on Indiegogo to allow us the opportunity to fund this venture, and I'm open to other offers.

Many believe that big projects like this are impossible, but Lou being alive today was seen as impossible. We don't know how long before Lupus takes him, but we know we don't have time to waste. So, let's make history! The Indiegogo link is https://bit.ly/2JWCIs1, go get your perks!

Also, if you get your friends and colleagues to back us for a total of $1000, it's a one week vip package for one person for free. Everything you need except for transport there and back is covered in the vip. I send a thank you email to each backer, asking if a friend referred them. You get a free week in Alaska, a dying man gets his wish.

Thank you for your time and consideration! I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,
Heather Obadal

*Carolyn's Note: We have know Hether and Lou for nearly a decade, and they are such hard working, incredibly kind and generous people. When we first met them, the were mobilizing an unbelievable array of charitable organizations and donors to help homeless veterans, out of work Truckers and their families, Disabled Children Holiday Gifts for those in need, and more than I can remember. We helped as much as we could, as did untold many more! Heather and Lou made the quality of life so much brighter for so, so, so many.

Now health issues have plagued them both, but they are amazingly fighting all challenges with such creativity and grace. Heather is giving cooking lessons to neighbors, helping many with social media work, selling an array of products online and Lou recently rushed into a burning building to help save fellow townspeople.

At this time, they need a little help. So if you can assist, please do so by the invitation only link Heather has provided above.

Thank you,
Carolyn
